Exercise is one of the two important components helping your child to remain healthy. With TV and video games ever present it is only natural that many kids today don’t get enough exercise. It is important to encourage your children to make exercise a daily and enjoyable part of their life, by starting them early on an exercise program.
Here are 10 kid exercise ideas that are a safe way for your children to exercise every day.
- Riding a bike – One of the most loved activities of most kids is bike riding in their neighborhood or at the local park in the company of their family or friends.
- Sports – Is your child part of a sports team? Please make sure that you have them sign up for after-school sporting activities, for instance, soccer, baseball or football.
- Strolling with the dog – A work out can be as easy as taking the family dog for a walk through the neighborhood or someone else’s pet after the evening meal.
- Household duties – One great way to get your children exercising is to get them involved in doing household chores, both inside and outdoors.
- Family walks – Just a 30-45 minute stroll after supper for the whole family is more than great exercise for the children, but for the whole family too.
- Basketball – The whole family can enjoy a basketball game after the evening meal. Exercising for an hour after eating your evening meal is really good for the digestive system.
- Exercising indoors – Do you own gym equipment that you use in your house? Try scheduling a specific time during the day to use an exercise DVD with your children.
- Having a walk with your children every day is an easy way to get your daily dose of exercise. This can be a very effective way of keeping your kids moving, whether you walk to your local grocery store, library, or just around your neighborhood.
- Jogging – You should take your children to the park and start jogging together, to establish a routine. Take advantage of music on your iPod or Mp3 player to keep a good pace.
- Handball is an excellent game and exercise for the children. You can take advantage of the local park in your area to play a couple of games. This is also a great way for young children to improve their hand/eye coordination.
It makes no difference what kind of exercise it is, it is important that you teach your children to participate in some kind of strenuous activity everyday to remain strong physically and mentally.
